The Village of Forestburg has a garbage pickup service provided by Flagstaff Waste Management from Sedgewick - 780-384-3950. Residential Rates for garbage per household are $19.45/month (residential rate - picked up every Tuesday).
The Flagstaff Regional Solid Waste Management Association would like to remind all residents who receive RESIDENTIAL GARBAGE COLLECTION of the following procedures to ensure there are no interruptions in your garbage collection:
1. Access to refuse containers must be free of snow and other debris.
2. Garbage must be placed in a proper container no more than 20 feet from the lane way.
3. Refuse must be placed in containers prior to 7:30 A.M. on your designated collection day.
4. Refuse storage area must not be blocked with cars, trailers, etc.
5. Ashes of any kind will bot be picked up due to the danger of fire.
6. All animal waste and kitty litter must be double bagged and sealed.
7. Shrubs or tree limbs must be tied in bundles, not longer than 3 feet in length
8. Our residential collection truck will collect a llimit of 5 bags of refuse per week. The maximum weight of each bag must not exceed 44 pounds (20 kilograms).
9. Loose waste in garbage receptacles will not be picked up. (All loose refuse must be bagged.) Assist us in keeping your town and/or village litter free.
10. Collection is made between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on designated days.

There is a tipping fee of $3.00 charged for all users delivering any amount up to the 1/2 ton limit. This is to help cover the cost of transporting waste from the transfer site to the landfill.
AN ADDITIONAL APPLIANCE FEE OF $3.00 PER appliance and $15.00 for Freon. Additionally there is a charge for propane tanks. Commercial, industrial wastes, concrete, dry waste products and oil are NOT ACCEPTED either. The only transfer site that acepts paint (at this date) is Killam.
Fees payable on arrival to Site Attendant. Coupon books available from Site Attendant.
Recycling
Recylce bins for Cardboard, Milk Jugs and #2 Plastic are located across from the town shop, on the NW side of Forestburg 5007-50 Ave. Please flatten all cardboard and plastic.
Sears Catalogues can be returned to the Sears outlet in town located at 5006 - 49 Ave
Bottles, cans etc. can go to the Forestburg Recycleing & Bottle Depot located across highway 53 @ 4706 - 43 Avenue. Hours of operation are
