Property Tax

2011 Property Taxes are due August 15, 2011.

In the 2011 Operating Budget, council approved an increase in municipal taxation revenue of $41,214 for a total of $849,762 or a 1.57% incease over last year.  In 2011, the Village portion of the residential education tax is 6.18% higher while the non-residential rate decreased by 7.96%.

Overall assessment has increased by $1,669,180 or 2.76%.

The overall tax rate has increased 1.57%

The 2011 Operating and Capital Budgets for the Village of Forestburg enable Council to sustain the current level of public services, facilities and utilities for all Forestburg residents, as well as continue to renew existing infrastructure.  A Culture and Recreation Special Tax of $210 per account has been levied in keeping with Council's philosophy of partially funding culture and recreation operations.

Capital and operational projects planned for 2011 include 5 blocks of sewer and water saddle replacement (47-49 Avenues and 47 and 48 Streets), sidewalk repairs, street light replacement, and new SCADA system for the water treatment plant.  The budget provides for transfer to reserves for future capital projects for public works equipment, water treatment plant replacement and land development.

As always, if you have any questions or comments please stop by the Village Office or talk to one of the members of Council.
