The community is located 80 km SE of Camrose on Highway 53, next to the beautiful Battle River Valley, Big Knife Provincial Park and North America's oldest stripping shovel at the Diplomat Mine Interpretive Site. Take a tour of Prairie Mines & Royalty Limited's mining operations with monster draglines at work and tour the ATCO Power Battle River Generating Station.
Attend one of the Battle River Playmaker's Dinner Theatre productions, dance recitals, choir concerts, the annual Concert Series presenting professional entertainers, our local museum and public library.

BIG KNIFE PROVINCIAL PARK is located 5 miles west of Forestburg on Hwy. 53, then turn south for seven miles on Hwy 855. After crossing the Battle River, the entrance gate to Big Knife Park is on the west side of the highway.
